Located in Château-Thébaud, 20 minutes south of Nantes. Open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
We speak english and can welcome small and large groups. We organize various events around vines and wine, aimed at all audiences (groups, families, …)
The winery
Since 1900, we have been cultivating our vines and producing our wines as independant winegrowers.
Our vineyard is established in Château-Thébaud and spreads over 16 hectares. Our vines are over 50 years old, cultivated on 5 terroirs. We are now using integrated viticulture. The grape varieties are:
- Melon de Bourgogne
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Cabernet Franc
- Folle Blanche
- Gamay
The terroirs
Our vines are grown on the Armorican massif, in 5 different terroirs. Each plot soil and subsoil is composed on a variety of Granodiorite, Gneiss, Gabbro Amphibolite, Sandstone, Schist, Mica Schist, “Granit de Clisson”, “Granite de Château-Thébaud”.
This variety of soil and subsoils allows our wines to express very distinctive aromatic profiles.
The wines
Jardin d’Edouard Estate produces a broad range of white, red and rosé wines as well as sparkling wines. We offer 15 various cuvées to your greatest delight!
We master the « on lees » maturing method to give a unique style to Muscadets. The wines are matured on their lees from 7 to 72 months in glass coated underground tanks.
Muscadets are segmented in 3 families depending on the maturation duration and the terroirs :
- Refreshing, up to 14 months: crispy, fresh,mineral.
- Matured 15 to 24 months: Richness, fruitiness, balanced freshness-roundness.
- Premium, 24 to 72 months: Powerful, full bodied, mineral finish.
Each wine reveals an unique personality, originating from a specific terroir, vintage and maturing process.
Exports
We export our wines in various countries and are constantly looking for new opportunities.
We attend national and international fairs on a regular basis to understand the market and to share our wines.
